BMO Field
BMO Field will be the home of new MLS side Toronto FC. The new ground will be football specific, which will undoubtedly add to the atmosphere quite a bit. Already there is an organization that is looking to be the Grey’s loudest group of supporters, as well as one of the loudest fan bases in the MLS. BMO Field in it’s first year will seat 20,000 fans, 4,000 of which are allocated to Toronto’s supporters in the southwest corner. Of some concern to supporters is the lack of a roof. While the lack of a roof over the field will make for a more comfortable atmosphere, there is the question of what happens during the months of April and October. Not to mention the off-season when the grounds would virtually be rendered useless in the snowy Toronto winter. Unfortunately there is no answer to the roof dillemma in April and October, however, a bubble can and will be used for off-season training during the winter months. Perhaps in the future with revenue earned from previous seasons, some sort of roof structure may be added to shield supporters from the potentially harsh elements.
As mentioned before, BMO Field will play host to some of the U-20 FIFA World Cup games in which some of the stadium will have to be converted to meet standards. It would seem that BMO Field is destined to see some good matches, and withstand a long history of football.
