I kind of support three teams.  I’m not sure if it’s allowed, but, all the same I try to follow and keep up on these three.  The Wanderers, Toronto FC, and UNAM de Pumas.  Why not?  Anyway, all three of these teams had games of some sorts today, all of differeing importance, all the way from an FA Cup tie, to a measley scrimmage against Florida International University.

To start, the Bolton Wanderers took on the hated Arsenal in a replay of a one one draw from the Emirates.  Arsenal scored within the first fifteen minutes and it wasn’t until the tail end of the game that the Whites were able to pull equal and send the match into overtime.  Unfortunately, Arsenal put two away and finished the match ahead three to one.  Bolton’s now out of the FA Cup and will be putting all of their efforts into a top four position and European football next year.

Secondly, Toronto FC took on college side Florida International University to start their preseason schedule.  Toronto was able to win their first match one to nil with a goal from prospective Colombian International Hector Hurtado.  Looks like the Greys are off to a good start.

Addendum:

Pumas were able to take on bottom placed Santos and hold on for a two one win moving them a little further from the relegation battle.

Beauty and The Beast: Part ?

In the previous two years the FA Cup has seen Bolton Wanderers take on Arsenal, so why should it be any different this year?  It’s not.  Three times in three years.  Today will see the match played at the Reebok as the Whites held Arse to a draw in their last tie.

Although, Arsene Wegner won’t admit to the simple fact that he’s a bit scared of the Whites, as in recent years as they’ve come to be a sort of bogey team for the Gooners.  In the last eight meetings of the two sides, Bolton have only lost once, and picked up all four wins at the Reebok, the place of tonight’s meeting.  Admit it Wegner, Bolton’s your bogey.  And while Wegner might be worried about the coming meeting, there is no doubt that Bolton boss Sam Allardyce will be feeling a bit of the jitters as well.

It should prove to be a tight match with both sides facing injuries.  Although Kevin Davies will remain out with a bit of a knock, Henry will be "resting" for the Gooners, lucky for Jussi as there will be no one to taunt him if the Gooners score.  Also, notorious nut-job Jens Lehmann will be taking the game off.  Other injuries for the Whites include one of the Abdoulaye boys, Faye, will be missing and the other, Meite, remains doubtful with Bolton Relic Gary Speed.  Arsenal will also be missing a few due to injuries and suspensions with Gallas, Flamini, and Eboue being injured, and Senderos being suspended.

How will it end?  No one knows, but the winner will face Blackburn in the fifth round at home.  The result’s and tension will be revealed soon as kick off is a mere two hours away.

Come on you Whites!
