The competition doesn’t look too difficult.  Undoubtedly some of the Central American and Carribean countries will be looking to make an impression.  Keep an eye on Costa Rica and Panama. As Costa Rica will want to prove their trip to the 2006 World Cup wasn’t a joke, and Panama will hope to better their runner-up performance in the 2005 Gold Cup.

Of course Mexico and the United States will be looking to perform well as it will be the first tournament for new Coaches Hugo Sanchez and Bob Bradley of Mexico and the US respectivley.  Both coaches will be making appearances in the Copa América only days after the Gold Cup finishes.
